Your Obstetrician Gynecologist Frequently asked questions:
6. What is your cesarean section rate? This rate, on the other hand, is finite and not subject to observer bias. It is calculated by dividing the number of cesarean section by the total number of deliveries. This number is not important if you do not care how you are going to be delivered. But, if your goal is for a natural delivery, you do not want to sign up with someone with a 30% or higher cesarean rate. Unless you ask, they will not tell you. We have one of the lowest rates in the city at approximately 12%.
