Our Staff:

Cuong M. Nguyen, M.D.

This obstetrician/gynecologist was trained at the University of Texas in the Houston Medical Center receiving honors in developmental biology and gynecology.  He did his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at UNM in Albuquerque.  Among his awards there were the Best Resident Teacher Award and the prestigious Special Excellence in Endoscopy award by the American Society of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.  He is board certified by the American Board of  Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a member of the Harris County Medical Society and the Texas Medical Association.  He has been in private practice in the Houston area for the last nine years.  His special interest is in the application of computer science and ultrasound in obstetrics and gynecology.  He is a member of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine and is currently undergoing their rigorous certification process.

Anh T. Nguyen, M.D.

Dr. Anh Nguyen received her doctor of medicine degree at the University of Mississippi.  She did her internal medicine residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.  Her fellowship in infectious diseases was completed at the University of California at Irvine.  She is a graduate of the Gorgas Course in Clinical Tropical Medicine in Peru, S.A.  She is board certified both in internal medicine and in infectious diseases.  As an extension of her work in infectious diseases, Dr. Anh Nguyen has developed a special interest in dermatology. 

Mary Gonzalez, M.A.

Mary received her medical assistant training at the National Center for Competency.  She has been working with Dr. Nguyen for the last eight years.  She is fluent in Spanish.

Elsa Barragan, M.A.

Elizabeth Banda, M.A.

"Liz" is the newest member of our team.  She is a recent graduate of the Professional Career institute.  She did the externship of her training here at the Sugarland Women's Health Center.  She liked us so much that she decided to return here for the prenatal care of her current pregnancy and to take up our second medical assistant position.
